What is a CFO?
A CFO is a trusted business partner who provides strategy, executive management and financial planning and analysis. CFOs develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations. They engage and interface with the board, auditors and investors regarding financial results, accomplishments and trends.
CFOs develop strategic and tactical recommendations to transform data into meaningful analysis that allow leaders to identify both successful and challenged areas within the business. CFOs aid in the selection, implementation and operation of financial tools and systems. Most develop pricing models and implement cash management strategies so money is available when needed. They prepare regular financial report packages that summarize the results of operations and measure performance against budgets and short and long term goals.
